even tho i'm not actually a member of {TD}{RS} i feel like i could be, so i'm gonna tell you where my name comes from.
once upon a time, i played EverQuest, for those of you who never played, there's a name generator for making your characters, and i made a Half-Elf Warrior and used the name gen and got Kulaman, after some years of playing my character was only level 42 when i quit. (my brother hogged the account) and i decided to keep the name as my own. and now you know where the name of one of the meanest bugs you know came from. :smile:

I got mine all the way from avp1 also as I remember i was once known as wingzero in my noob days, Me and Liquid would always play avp1, we would usualy play the meat factory level and we had some good fights, we were noobs when we started, then rocked avp1 and now avp2, I love my name, will never change it, ever.

Your talkin to a Veteran Rocketeer from Halo!, i used to play online untill Halo online went downhill, i used some other shitty name, but people always used to call me The Echo (For unknown Reasons), so when dom asked me to join TD i decided to take the name. Reason im a Veteran Rocketeer is coz i dont play Halo all that much anymore but when i do i pwn all my friends with the rocket launcher and pistol. So yeah thats how my name came about, bit stupid but it works i guess.

well my name is from the day i started online gaming: my friends in 8th grade all played runescape and were trying to get me into it
around this time i had "magical trevor 1" stuck in my head and all i could think was "where is the cow hidden right now?"
i tried about 13 times to get a name on runescape only to find they had all been taken
i remember thinking "OH MY FUCKING GOD" and next thing i know, without thinking i typed in "omfgcows" into the name choser thing
and it WASNT TAKE :DDDDDDDD
so the name stuck because it made lots of people chuckle online when they saw me walk by

We've since grown out of the Bat Dole phase but I'm still referred to as Stobbin for no reason whatsoever. Ends with a bad outdated inside joke.

I took French through high school with my best friends Ellen and Shawna, and lunch was always after French class. Since Ellen lived up the hill from school, we always went to her house. One day we were supposed to be learning something that sounded like "squid", so we had been drawing squids on everything all day, and when we got to Ellen's house I opened the fridge and saw a container of "Powdered Porn."
It turned out to actually say "Powdered Parm" for parmesan but was written badly, and right when I said "Powdered Porn!? Just add water!" Shawna said something involving "Squid" and the result was "Squid-Porn, just add water!"
So we drew "squid porn" on everything for the next week, and what was a stupid inside joke never really died and when I needed a name I picked it, just because I had a lot of squid porn pictures on random objects in facebook pictures and what not.
Then I found out that squid porn actually existed and wanted to change my name, but it was too late. now I'm STUCK with it. D:

My name actually used to be Mighty J when I played the original Halo multiplayer on my comp.
When I'd go over to ppls houses, I would always change it to something stupid
like...a gay beaver, or a queer giraffe.
And sometimes I just use those names to throw ppl off.
But anyway...I wanted to get my stepdad into gaming. His name is Sam, so I thought something funny would be good.
Cause he's not really serious about it...just for fun once in a while.
So I thought Spam would be cool...or Sampson. Or something.
Finally settled on Salmonella...like the disease.
But he likes salmon, so I made it Salmonilla.
He never got around to playing, so I just took his name.
Now ppl call me Sal (to Crit I'm Sally).
So Sal it is.

(as a joke) My brother thought that it would make a funny game name, so I started using it while playing UT2004 and carried it over to TF2.

One of them asked which was cooler, Onitank or some other retarded name. Since I thought both were stupid and seemed to take themselves far to seriously, I made this name as a joke and it stuck.

Doc Brown proceeded to start playing from a computer upstairs using the moniker "Delicious". Now remember, at this point I'm in the basement playing with Dark_Stool and another friend of ours, I have no idea Doc Brown is even in the house - I'm still under the impression that there are only 3 people playing UT and that I am being absolutely destroyed by Dark_Stool and friend. Well all the sudden I see a character on my screen named "Delicious" and I actually killed him - it was the first time I had killed anyone in an hour at least, so I screamed out: "Who's Delicious?  ?" So now Dark_Stool and Doc Brown still tease me about it by yelling out "Who's Delicious? ". So when I picked up TF2 to play with those guys, I picked that as my name. I have an older brother who was, for a while, taller than me. He felt the need to constantly remind me of that, often by inventing some stange nickname involving being short.
At one point, he was referring to me as "a creepy little gnome". Later that day, he misspoke and called me a "creep gnome".
A few days later, I was trying to decide a name for myself in some crappy Flash RPG, so I asked him for a suggestion. He said "Creep Gnome", and that's been my name ever since.
Oddly, I've never really associated the name with "gnomes" of the garden or fantasy variety- I just saw it as a name.

Back before I had my own computer, I had no idea about online play, as far as I was concerned, mulitplayer was 4 bros playing Halo.
My old best friend had an older brother, whose account name was (hurr) Alfalfa
I asked why, and he explained to me that when you play online, you need a name that A. Stands out. and B. is redonkulus. So when you 'own' a guy, he gets all mad because he got killed by a dude with a stupid name.

the 2 names i use AB CursedApollo (xbox360) and the fallen messiah (steam) both have simple origins.
cursed apollo was a name given to me by my teammates and friends because of my "enlightening" messages and the fact if something can go wrong (like having your whole team wiped out by some random nade or having someone come up behind me the moment after i finished checking my flank ect...) and the name just stuck. the AB part stands for achievement busters which is what implied i took (sadistic) pleasure in going into boosting matches (notably gears of war 1 and Halo 3) and break them up and force ppl to earn them like everyone else and the report repeat offenders.
as for the fallen messiah....
he was the main villain in my story/manga after the earth was imploded and was an all around bad-ass. in one chapter he dismembered the main characters mentor and then savagely beat him to death with his own limbs and then disemboweled him when he was sputter that he was still alive.
