This hurts to write this but our friend from the Skul` Shock days Panman56 died on February 8th, 2009.
Pan was a great man that never let anything bother him, though he fought most of his life with cystic fibrosis he still looked on the bright side. Pan has taught me how to run HL2 engine servers including helping setup the TF2 server we are running now. He gave us a home for HL2:DM on his own server:
[___SKUL`SHOCK Get Ready To Rumble___]
I will never forget playing with him and all the good times we had with Liquid, Desi, Hental1ty, Louisiannakiller, Paralyzer, and more.
Pan you will never be forgotten and will always be missed, I hope you are now fully at rest and you don't have to deal with that bullshit disease that took such a wonderful life.
Your friend -Dom.
I'm going to put his name on the server for awhile to show my appreciation of his help on the server and to show how much he meant to us. If you didn't know him I'm sure you would have loved him and would have done the same if you were me. He got along very well with {TD} and you would have all gotten along with him. Please pay your respect if you like, we all would appreciate it.
You can view his obituary here, please be respectful guys. I know we joke around with a lot things but this isn't the time or situation. Please pay your respect and if you knew him make a post on his guest book:http://www.magicvalley.com/obituaries/?type=obit&id=76308

I will miss Panman greatly. He taught me how to be a great admin and showed me pointers on running servers. He was a good friend. Without him and his server I prob would never have known him or have gotten into online gaming. He always looked on the bright-side of life, even when on his down days. We miss you Panman.

I didn't know Panman personally, but I did game with him on Skull Shock a couple of times. Just want to pay my respects to a fellow gamer and say that I'm sorry to hear that such a great guy passed away.

I heard you guys talking about this today in the server. It's always sad to hear about someone passing away. It is a very serious re-realization of how mortal we are. Sadly I never got the privilege of getting to know him, but I am sure he was cared for very deeply by his friends and family.
It is very nice of you to name the server in his memory, and to make a topic like this for him.

Poor fellow. I actually still have that server in my favorites. I'd played on the Skul' Shock servers many times with friends but had no idea about the person that was running it. And for the server's hospitality, I am thankful. Rest in Peace, Panman.

He sounds like a guy i would like to meet. Even though I have never gotten to meet him, I feel like I have.. Hearing people talking like this makes me want to start crying... The death of a friend is hard.. and i know the feeling. Believe me... Rest well and in peace Panman. Thou shall be missed.. Dearly.

I never knew him, but like you said Dom, I probably would liked him. It's a shame that good people have unfortunate things (sickness and whatnot) happen to them, while bad people still strive and live healthy lives. Why life works that way I will never know. All I can say now, is that he isn't hurting anymore and he can rest easy. He will be missed. Rest in peace, friend.

this may sound deep coming from me but even though the body is gone and spirit cant be seen the accomplishments and triumphs of the man are not lost to the grave for they are forever sealed in our hearts never to be lost to the ever blowing winds.
I may have never had the pleasure of knowing him but he sounds like he was a great man and i am sure you all do the lessons he taught you proud well now he works with all your passed loved ones building a home for you in the kingdom of heaven. A mans death is tragic but the point is to move on god takes people away from us in the will of all his loved ones and im sure you were all good friends to him and this may sound surprising coming from me but yeah that's about all i have to say about it R.I.P

Thanks guys for all your comments.
I just checked his guest book and so many people post from knowing him online. I didn't relize he knew that many people and it's also nice to see some guys that you haven't in awhile to get together during this tragic event.

I played with Panman a while back when TD moved to HL2 (before I was in TD obviously), and he got me into HL2DM. Before I played on GRTR, I didn't play much Steam, but I think it was Staff that invited me into a game with him. Panman got me into playing HL2 for hours and hours.
Thanks for some good times...

Pan was a great friend, and I know that he will be missed greatly. I miss the days that we spent building GRTR. I spent hours with him on Google talk setting up files, and doing everything it took to get the server up and keep it up. When he got an idea to make a change to the server to make things more fun for everyone, he would spend days obsessing and working his ass off to make it work. Pest in peace Pan.

I didn't know Panman, but I do know the feeling of losing someone like this. Any friend of this clan, or any of my other friends, is a friend to me. Though I didn't know him, I respect him for what he has done for everyone. I wish I could have had the chance to meet him myself. Gone, but not forgotten. Panman56: The One and Only. Rest in peace bro.

It has been a long time since I played with Panman.. I remember the guy, I don't ever remember during a game hearing a word of sadness come out... He was always happy. It makes me guilty.
I have lived my life in a way that has left me with regrets. I envy him, he lived fully for himself. He died with no regrets, at least as far as I know. I count him in the highest respect. A man with no regrets. And right now, I take my hat off to him and thank God for the people like him. The ones who always help each other. May we use him as a role model in our times of panic and stress. Look at the man who gave an ultimate sacrifice, and still smiled.
We miss you man, and I swear one of these days I'm gonna get to heaven and get beaten in games like I always used to...
With the greatest respect,
raVen

Very well sad Raven And to all I'm sure Pan would greatly appreciate this. At least he was able to take a shot and get the surgery. Though it didn't work for him I'd rather have him have that then dieing wondering what if he could get the transplant because he really wasn't doing well

I never met this man but I know what it is like to lose a friend from personal experience. From only the few small things I have heard about him, Panman already has my respect. Dom, I am sorry that you had to experience the loss of a friend.
If nothing else, take comforting in the prospect of him finding peace now.
"Though the corpial shell is left behind, the spirit carries on eternal"
My respectful appologies to all who knew him. May he now rest and find peace.
