Hi folks.
Thanks to Obliterator and I, I think we found a way to stop these spammers. Now when a new member joins, he/she has to verify that they have a legit e-mail account. Thus should make it a lot harder for spammers to create an account here. If that doesn't work I have back-up plans that will require us to make necessary actions.
Keep an eye out though, spammers are hard to fight of. Thought they shouldn't be to bad because our forum is pretty darn good, it ain't a free ware forum like most of them out there. Spammers usually target those mostly because they are easier to corrupt and find.

im not sure on the setup but I know that our website maker made a way that the bots post in a certain section and then get deleted within like 2 hours of inactivity...

the setup is levels of membership, like a members corner, only certain people can only post on certain forum areas. If they can only post in a certain set of topics. They must be moved up in clearance to a new rank if they are to keep the account, otherwise it is deleted within a few hours.
They had a similar set up on that old old DL/TSL thing. It worked extremely well.

Recon or R3c0nz as he so put it is an armor in halo 3 that you can only get by doing something incredibly amazing or building a map good enough to be used on matchmaking rotation in which would require so much skill and a wider range of tools and programing that you would have to work for bungie. which means go kill yourself cuz they aren't gonna give it to you. :3

There are a whole bunch of temporary email websites out there so this wouldn't really do anything if someone wanted to spam up the site. To stop against bots add a captcha (I don't remember seeing one) and request their Steam ID (STEAM_0:x:xxxxxxxx).

Alright I think I have fixed the spammers by making users register their email accounts like it was on the old forums. I thought that was setup by default but it wasn't which is why all this spam was going on.
I have also tried installing a mod that stobbin pointing out to me but it has failed so far with our database. If we still keep seeing spammers then I will try harder to install these mods.

Now anyone who registers.... which is basically only exquisitely bots since nobody else knows about this site can't get past verification because it now requires an admin to approve their account. About 90 accounts are being registered here a day, 90 at least... So we are only screwed if someone new finds out about us and wants to join but I haven't seen a legit new person want to register in awhile.
